About The Speaker
Michele Shuster is a founding partner of Mac Murray, Petersen & Shuster, where she brings extensive experience in working with clients involved in highly regulated industries. Michele has established a solid record of representing clients in consumer protection matters before state attorneys general, the Federal Trade Commission and Federal Communication Commission, as well as conducting teleservice audits and providing counsel on advertising compliance and privacy issues.
Prior to entering private practice, Michele managed the Ohio Attorney General’s Consumer Protection and Crime Victim Services divisions from 1997 through 2004. She is a past President of the Ohio Women’s Bar Association, and was recognized for her achievements as an “Ohio Rising Star” by Ohio Super Lawyers magazine. She has also been named by Columbus Business First as one of the outstanding 40 professionals in central Ohio under the age of 40 for business and community leadership.
Michele currently serves as General Counsel for PACE (Professional Association for Customer Engagement). She has an exceptional foundation in U.S. privacy laws and regulations and is accredited as both a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and Customer Engagement Compliance Professional (CECP) through PACE. She is active on numerous association boards, and has served as Chair of the Executive Advisory Board for The University of Akron’s Taylor Institute for Direct Marketing and Suarez Applied Marketing Research Laboratories.
Michele is a highly sought-after national speaker on consumer regulatory issues, frequently addressing both state and federal government regulatory agencies and serving as the keynote presenter for leading industry groups.
